Participants - Orchestral and other brass musicians who are pursuing a professional or semi-professional career or who are keen community musicians and have gained a high level of proficiency.
Auditors - Brass musicians who wish to broaden their musical experience and gain insight into a professional level of music making.
The 2026 International Brass Intensive with be held at the Bright Chalet, 113 Delany Ave, Bright, located in the heart of the beautiful Victorian Alps. Bright is a popular holiday destination and has a thriving winter ski season.
Bright and surrounding areas have much to offer with beautiful valleys and mountains, breweries, bike trails, golf and pristine rivers not to mention the wildlife.
Bright is approximately three & a half hours drive from Melbourne. International and interstate visitors should book their flights to Melbourne Airport. A coach transfer to Bright (and return) can be booked with us at an extra cost.
Accommodation is included in the cost of the Intensive and we will be hosted at the Bright Chalet. Accommodation will be shared rooms with twin, triple and quadruple rooms. All rooms include:

Once your application has been assessed, you may be requested to submit a recorded audition consisting of two contrasting etudes or two contrasting solo movements. All recordings must be submitted via an unlisted YouTube link. (Auditors are not required to submit an audition recording).
If you wish, you can submit a recorded audition with your application by copying and pasting the URL of the YouTube video that you are submitting on the Participant Application form.
Participants will take part (i.e. play) in ensemble work, master classes, workshops, sectionals etc. The intensive will comprise three orchestral brass ensembles with each ensemble comprising 4 trumpets, 4 horns, 4 trombones, 2 tubas and euphonium.
Auditors may sit in and observe all ensemble work, master classes, workshops etc. and will also be able to play in an auditor's session each day with the tutors.
Other ensembles: Outside of the Intensive curriculum, participants and auditors are welcome to form their own ensembles for private practice etc.
Offers to participants and auditors will be sent out from 1st November 2025. To accept your offer and secure your place, you must pay the full fee for the Intensive by 21st November 2025.
The Intensive fees cover all tuition, accommodation and meals. A Coach transfer from Melbourne Airport is also available for a small extra cost.
