Skunkworks Community – Child Safety and Wellbeing Statement of Commitment
At Skunkworks Community, we believe that every child and young person has the right to feel safe, valued, and respected. We are committed to creating and maintaining environments that protect children from harm and empower them to thrive through music and community connection.
We:
- Place the safety and wellbeing of children and young people at the centre of our decisions and actions.
- Respect and embrace diversity, including the cultural safety of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, children with disability, and young people of all gender identities.
- Have zero tolerance for child abuse in any form.
- Commit to listening to and empowering young people, encouraging their voices and ideas in our programs and performances.
- Expect all staff, volunteers, and associates to uphold our Child Safety Code of Conduct.
- Take all concerns or allegations of child abuse seriously, responding quickly, fairly, and in line with our policies and legal obligations.
- Work continuously to improve our child safety practices and foster a culture of accountability, care, and inclusion.
By embedding these principles into everything we do, Skunkworks Community aims to build a safe and inspiring space where young people can grow through music, creativity, and community.
